What we don't do

No paid placements. No sponsored posts. No affiliate links. No "top 10" lists optimized for SEO. No AI-generated content that has not been fact-checked by a human who has been to a Chinese factory floor in the last twelve months. We make money (or don't) by selling to readers who find the work valuable, not to suppliers who find it useful as marketing.

Editorial standards

Every article names a category, has a defined audience, and is reviewed for the same four things: factual accuracy, sourcing transparency, commercial independence, and reading clarity. We cite primary sources where they exist (factory interviews, trade press, customs data). Where the data is incomplete, we say so.

Who writes this

The ChinaShoe.cc editorial team is based in Wenzhou and Shenzhen, with a network of contributors across the major production hubs. Our bylines reflect actual authorship; "AI Editorial" is used only for items that have been AI-drafted and human-reviewed end-to-end. If a piece is signed "AI Editorial" you can assume the same review bar applies; we'd just rather be honest about how it was produced than pretend.

How this site is built

Astro 5 on Cloudflare Pages, with content stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) and assets in R2. The site is statically rendered where possible and server-rendered for the ingest and admin paths. Source available on request; happy to share the schema and migration approach with anyone building something similar.
